Information: Argentine composer and pianist. Born in Buenos Aires to Italian parents. When he was only five years old he was concerned with a spontaneous passion: the piano. So he started to compose music from his pure intuition. Later on he studied with Lía Cimaglia Espinosa, last representative of a prestigious artistic, compositional and interpretive chain which handed down the secrets of pianism: Fryderyk Chopin?Georges Mathias?Albert Williams. When he was very young M. A. gave concerts as a solo artist and with orchestra in Argentina: Teatro Colón, Teatro Coliseo, Teatro Municipal de Rosario, Teatro Municipal de Bahía Blanca, etc.. He moved to Italy in 1990, he shows an amazing repertoire of symphonies, concertos, chamber music (written when he was 16) at the confirmatory exam on Composition at the Conservatory of L'Aquila, but he was rejected by the Commission for "Lack of talent”. In the meantime, it collects a numbers of prizes in composition contest as Masterprize (London), EMI Recordings, Warner Bros. (Japan), Young Composers (Bologna), F. Mompou (Spain), Ed Boileau (France), etc.. He continued on his composition studies with Serigio Rendine and piano with Giovanni Nenna, especially going deeper on interpretation of the work of Isaac Albéniz. He graduated in Computer Science at the University of L'Aquila with a dissertation about "Automatic System for the Analysis of Music". He created a completely new musical frame : the Opera ® Multimedia. In this flexible, exciting structure that draws a new path to the idea of "Concert & Theatre". He writes, as a series of frescoes, the cycle of Argentine Myths which collects the titles Pampa Milagrosa, Dones Divinos, Cielo Andino, Patagonia, Río Guarani, Tierra del Fuego, Los Invisibles. M. A. is the founder and artistic director of the Iberoamerican Orchestra of Catalunya. He has been invited as Spokesperson for Peace and Integration of Latin America to hold concerts at the Palace of Government of Catalunya, Casa América in Madrid, Barcelona Casa América, University of Barcelona, Sant Andreu Theatre, Auditorium E. Granados of Lleida, Auditorium of Barcelona, Barcelona Cathedral and at the Theatre of Barcelonés University of which he has been entrusted the artistic direction in 2005. He produced his cantata Akatist, hymns of praise to Saint Basil of Ostrog Op 108 at the Basilica Santa Maria del Popolo in Rome in May 2008. This concert marked the second anniversary of the Independence of Montenegro and it was hold before the entire diplomatic corps accredited to the Holy See and the highest authorities of the Vatican City. The initiative was hugely successful. The tireless work of research, discovery and development of the indigenous voices and dispersed forms of Argentinian music conveyed into the music performed by M. A. and he earned lots of acknowledgements from his government. His sacred and spiritual compositions have received recognition from the Vatican and from its Musicale Pontificia "Sistina" Chapel. M. A. composed one hundred and fifty works which can be divided into symphonies, concertos, cantatas, operas, chamber music and piano cycles. He took care of aesthetics, form, originality, and world wide dimension of his music and he achieved a high descriptive power. According to the newspaper La Vanguardia the new music by Mauricio Annunziata “can reach the height of the great European National Schools for technical skill, beauty and expression of ideas".
