Information: PANNI, Marcello was born on January 24, 1940 in Rome. Son of Amaldo and Adriana Cortini. Education Accademia di Santa Cecilia, Rome under Goffredo Petrassi and Conservatoire National Superieur, Paris. Career Conductor for Accademia di Santa Cecilia, the four Italian radio orchestras and other Italian Orchestras performing full range of baroque, classical and modem works. Opera debut with The Barber of Seville, Hamburg 1977 and has since conducted opera in all the principal opera houses in Europe. American debut with Elisir d’amore, Metropolitan Opera, New York 1988.
