Information: Anton Beer-Walbrunn b. 29-6-1864 in Kohlberg/Oberpfalz, d. 22-3-1929 in Munchen. German composer and musicteacher. After three years of studying with J. Rheinberger and H. Bussmeyer Beer-Walbrunn was from 1891 on a free artist in Munchen, with much help from Graf Schack. From 1901 till his death he was professor Musictheory and piano at the Akademie der Tonkunst in Munchen. His stubborn attachment to the neo-romantic traditions was the main reason for the lack of enthousiasme for his music. He Composed opera's (Don Quichotte, Das Ungeheuer), a symphony, a burleske for Orchester (Wolkenkuckucksheim), chambermusic, choirworks and lieder.
