Information: James Friskin 1886 - 1967 Born Glasgow. Studied piano and composition at the Royal College of Music in London, and in 1914 emigrated to the United States. Based in New York, he taught at the Institute of Musical Arts, and later at the Juilliard Graduate School. His compositions include a Piano Quintet (1907), frequently performed in London before the First World War, sonatas for cello, violin and solo piano, a piano concerto, Concert Overture, and many short instrumental pieces and songs.
