(b Krasnodar, 17 Jan 1901; d Mamontovka, 16 Aug 1965). Russian composer, violinist and conductor. He was a pupil of Myaskovsky, played in the Beethoven Quartet and worked with the Radio Orchestra and in theatres. His own style moved from Skryabin-like lyricism to a Prokofievan linearity.
