He completed his musical studies at the Academy of Music at Cagliari obtaining a degree in Piano (1958), Choir Music and Choir Conduction (1960) and Composition (1961). He attended specialisation courses with Giorgio Federico Ghedini (Venice 1960, 1962, 1963), Goffredo Petrassi (Rome 1963) and Piotr Perkowski (Warsaw 1964, 1965 with scholarships of the Foreign Office). He also attended the Ferienkurse für Neue Musik (Darmstadt 1966) and Franco Evangelisti's course in electronic music (Rome 1968).
He is author of theatre, television, symphonic, choir, electronic and chamber music works performed in Europe, America and Japan. Is winner of several composition contests
