Information: Vsevolod Pozdejev has studied trumpet in Tallinn Children's Music School (1992–1997) and piano with Mare Ots in Georg Ots Tallinn Music School (1998–2002). In 2002, he continued studies on piano with Valdur Roots at the Estonian Academy of Music and Theatre, graduating with Master's degree in 2007. In 2006, he complemented his studies as an exchange student at the Helsinki Sibelius Academy with Tarja Penttinen. Over his studying-years he has taken part in a number of masterclasses – with Arbo Valdma, Kalle Randalu, Vera Gornostajeva, Stephen Kovacevich, Dmitri Alekseyev and others. Since 2009, Pozdejev hosts the radio program Misterioso at Radio 4 and since 2010, teaches composition at the Narva Music School. As a pianist, Vsevolod Pozdejev has given solo concerts in Tallinn and Moscow. In 2008, he participated as an accompanist in international opera festival Muzyczny Ogród Liczyrzepy 2008 in Poland. In 2001, he gained the 2nd place in competition of Estonian Music Schools. As a composer, Vsevolod Pozdejev so far has written mainly instrumental and vocal chamber works, where the piano holds an important place. He has also created choral works and film music. On April 12, 2012, his piece Smiles for two pianos was premiered at chamber music contest in Marupe, Latvia. The 6th Nora Novik's International Small Chamber Music Competition took place at the Marupe Music and Art School, the performers were young pianists, piano students from Narva Music School, Enola Melkova and Ksenia Sergejeva (teacher Tatjana Sokolova). The duo of young pianists won the 1st prize at the competition and a diploma for performace of the piece by Vsevolod Pozdejev. © EMIC 2010
