Music has always been the most dominant aspect of my life. From a young age I was always interested in music and the arts. I was learning violin and piano all the way through my primary and secondary school years, and I was always rehearsing and performing in multiple instrumental and choral ensembles and musicals. When I reached the end of my high school training, there was never any question as to what I wanted to do as a career. I was accepted to study a Bachelor of Music at the University of Melbourne's Conservatorium of Music. After one year studying performance on the violin, I transferred into the composition stream. I had not written any substantial music before then, and I was so astonished and excited to discover my love of this new medium of musical expression. I completed my BMus at Melbourne in 2002 studying under Stuart Greenbaum and Brenton Broadstock, was offered full representation from the Australian Music Centre in 2004, obtained a Master of Music from the Sydney Conservatorium of Music under Terumi Narushima and Mary Finsterer in 2009 and did further studies with Katy Abbott and Johanna Selleck. From the time I began composing, my music has been performed in Melbourne, Sydney, Brisbane and abroad in Toronto, Canada by the Melbourne Symphony Orchestra, Orchestra Victoria, The Zelman Symphony Orchestra, The University of Melbourne Orchestra and by numerous other talented young artists that I have had the pleasure and privilege to work with.
