| Information: | Oscar van Hemel is born on 3 augustus 1892 in Antwerp. After his music studies in Antwerpen Oscar van Hemel moved to the Netherlands where he during the First World War a violinist is in the orchestra of the Nederlandse Opera in Amsterdam. Afterwards he works mainly as a teacher and composer. Hij has a lyric style of composing especially in his 'Violinconcerto' (1944) and in his symphonies. |
