Information: Born Budapest. He studied in Berlin and in Vienna und Joseph Marx, and Franz Schreker resp.. For a while he was repetitor at the Opernschule in Berlin, then singing teacher in Budapest. From 1943 on he was professor of the Goldmark Music School (singing). After 1945 he took part in the work of the Association of Hungarian Musicians. He composed stage works, works for chorus and orchestra, choral works without accompaniment, orchestral music, chamber music and instrumental pieces and songs. The works composed by Hugó Kelen previous to 1944 perished during the siege of Budapest.
