Luciano Bellini was born in Rome, Italy, in 1952. He studied piano, composition and conducing at the Conservatorio di Musica Santa Cecilia in Rome. He is deeply interested politically and in subjects like anthropology and non verbal communication, which resulted in a book about the relations between imagination, the unconscious, music and folklore. In 1980 he became conductor of the chamber orchestra Nova Philharmonia and the choir Arcum. He is very interested in modern music and was conductor in more than 150 first performances.
