Information: Arsenio Giron was born in Renteria, Spain in 1932 and immigrated to North America in 1942. After graduating from high school, he pursued music studies at the Oberlin Conservatory of Music where he received a B.Mus. and Tulane University where he earned an M.A.. He did additional work at Washington University in St. Louis, Missouri. A recipient of numerous commissions and awards, Giron has written many works, including two symphonies, chamber music for various instrumental combinations, an opera, songs and several choral compositions. Presently he lives in London, Ontario, where he teaches theory and composition at the University of Western Ontario.
