Information: Carl Strommen is an American composer, music teacher and he also conducts music. Strommen earned his Bachelor of Arts degree in English Literature at Long Island University in Brookville, New York. He later earned a Master's degree in music at the City College in New York. He completed his educational pursuits at the Eastman School of Music in Rochester, New York . He began his career as a conductor of wind bands at the Mamaroneck Public Schools in Mamaroneck, New York. Afterwards he taught orchestration, composition and arrangement at the CW Post College of Long Island University in Brookville . He is currently living and working in the United States as a leading composer of instrumental and vocal music and is very popular with aspiring young musicians. He also works as a lecturer at workshops and leads courses for conductors. As a composer, he mainly writes music for brass orchestra, orchestras, jazz bands and vocal music. He has been a recipient of the prestigious annual ASCAP Standard Writers Award.
