Information: Andrew Keeling was born in Staffordshire, UK, in 1955. After attending Lichfield Cathedral as a chorister, Oakham School and the University of Huddersfield as a flautist he played up and down the UK in rock bands. Later he studied with NicolaLeFanu, Anthony Gilbert and John Casken and has a PhD in Composition from the University of Manchester. His music has been commissioned by many leading ensembles and musicians, such as Fretwork, Evelyn Glennie, Jacob Heringman, Gemini, Het Trio and the Yukimi Kambe Viol Consort, and have been performed throughout the UK and Europe as well as in the USA, Russia and Japan. He has taught a wide variety of age-ranges: composition to adults at the University of Central Lancashire; undergraduates at the University of Liverpool and school-age children at the Junior Royal Northern College of Music in Manchester and Rossall School.
