Information: Lizée, Nicole (b. April 7, 1973, Gravelbourg, Saskatchewan). Canadian composer of mostly orchestral and chamber works that have been performed throughout Canada. Ms. Lizée studied composition with T. Patrick Carrabré and piano with Robert Richardson and David Rogosin at Brandon University from 1991-96, where she earned her BMus. There she also attended masterclasses with Michael J. Baker, Peter Paul Koprowski, Henry Kucharzyk, and Randolph Peters. She then studied composition with Denys Bouliane and John Rea at McGill University from 1996-2001, where she earned her MMus. She has received commissions from the Canada Council and the Conseil des arts et des lettres du Québec. In 2002, she received the Canada Council for the Arts Robert Fleming Prize and her Left Brain/Right Brain was featured in the Generation 2002 tour of l’Ensemble Contemporain de Montréal.
