Information: Ori B.Y Talmon was born in Haifa, and has graduated his Composition studies in the Buchmann-Mehta School of Music at Tel-Aviv University in 2006 with Honors. During his studies he has won several excellence scholarships from the School of Music and the Faculty of the Arts, as well as the American-Israeli Cultural Foundation Scholarship for Composers, the Ben Bassat Excellence grant and the European-American Musical Alliance Scholarship for Composers. In the summer of 2006 he participated in the European American Musical Alliance International Program for composers at “L’Ecole Normal de Musique de Paris”, with a special scholarship from the American-Israeli Cultural Foundation. He graduated the program with honors. He has begun his musical education with Dr. Ruth Appel in Haifa, and continued them through Theory and Composition lessons with Prof. Yizhak Sadai, Prof. Oded Zehavi and the Composer Ruben Seroussi. He has studied Organ under the guidance of Mr. Alexander Gorin, and served as a teaching assistant at the Buchmann-Mehta School of Music in 2007. He also holds a Bachelors Diploma in Computer Science (B.Sc). His compositional output includes chamber and solo instrumental music as well as vocal. His work “Angelus Novus” (after Walter Benjamin and Paul Klee) for a large chamber ensemble and a Soprano singer has won the first prize in School Composition Competition.
